Since Bree suggested I use a different format for my posts here is something a bit different. Asher made a video of our Europe trip (Paris to Rome). It is pretty cool. Watch and enjoy.  We look forward to reading all the comments!  (Positive & thoughtful only for this please)

Addio Roma

Packing up and trying to work out what to do with our gear is never that fun, however, our kind Air BnB host had allowed us to leave our bags in the apartment till we left at 4pm. This meant we could still tick off a couple of destinations without carrying 10kg or so on our backs.  Today's destinations were the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The bus ride was easy and the walk through the little Italian streets made it quite delightful. You can always tell you are getting close though by the increase in tourists. And then we were there.  The large fountain towering over us with ... no water.  What?  Isn't it a fountain.  Turns out the thing is being cleaned, so instead we got to see men giving it a bit of a water blast. Fun.  We did some googling and found out that it is the end of an aqueduct, the only one left functioning after the Barbarians destroyed the rest. (Barbarians!) It used to be in a slightly different pl...

Mexican food in Rome

Image
Our last night in Rome! We went down under a bridge and on the riverbank was market. We walked the market and then we were getting hungry. Mum, Dad and Asher were all getting sick of pizza and pasta (I was not!). And so we found a Mexican Restaurant.  We got some random Mexican food, someone needs to go over there and tell them how to make Mexican Food - because this was not it. Mum and I ended up swapping dishes because mine was too spicy and hers was too bland. It was a perfect swap! (Not so much.) Not even Asher could take the spice of mine. In the end, I didn't eat much because I got indigestion :(. But we did get Gelato on the way back!  It was defiantly a strange last night was kinda awesome!  Posted By Hannah.

Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

Image
You can't really go to Rome and not visit the Colosseum. We'd also been told that the Roman Forum was a must see so our very kind tour guide booked us a walking tour to see both plus Palatine Hill. The weather forecast said rain but we were hopeful so we put in our new umbrella's and headed to the bus. Our meeting point was by the Arch of Constantine, thankfully that is easy enough to find. However, the tour not so much as there are many places a tour guide could be but we figured waiting and seeing would be ok. Our tour guide found and our tour began. There was a lot of information about the Colosseum and its history. It was built where Nero's golden house was. That house had a water feature and so that was included in the Colosseum originally, allowing for recreations of famous ship battles.  When it first opened by the Emperor Titas in AD80 he had 100-day game celebrations. Everyone went and it was free. The poorest people sat up the top and the...
