The World is so B I G.

Packing. 23kg's may seem like a lot until you have to put it into a suitcase.

Saying goodbye is sad, even if it is just for a few months.

Airports.
Christchurch isn't half bad. And the staff are kind. Our first flight was delayed, so the lady kindly bumped us onto an earlier one. This did mean a rushed goodbye but we got to Auckland. Everything didn't take long and we ended up only having a short wait for our first 'long haul'.

 Auckland

It is weird having dinner at 12:30 in the morning. Going on a long haul flight is kinda like entering an alternate dimension where you eat, sleep & watch movies.

Comment for my dad - the Dreamliner is a dream. Comfy, roomy and quiet. And yes, the 'plastic' plane didn't dry us out.

The first haul was good, and we felt great. All of us had some sleep and Asher watched the whole of the last Hobbit movie. Arrived in Singapore feeling good and ready to make the transfer to our next flight.

We didn't have a lot of time, so no wandering of the shops (which we couldn't afford anyway). It was so quiet and clean!

But then came the longest. flight. ever. Honestly, there was a point where Dan and I actually looked at the clock and said "Oh, there is still 8 hours to go". It seemed to take for - ev - ah!

In total Asher and Dan watched 6 movies, Hannah & I four. I probably got the most sleep but we didn't crack the 5-hour mark in one hit.

But we arrived. And went through customs & border control (though it really isn't much of a control compared to good ole' NZ). We caught two tubes, didn't get lost and were met by the wonderful Vicki and Matt, who have been amazing hosts. Their apartment has such incredible views and at 4am we were mostly, all ready for the first full day of adventuring to start.

Some U.K. kai

Hannah loves the 'tube'.

Our view! You can see the Shard, London Eye and top of St Paul's. Beautiful!!

It has just cracked 7am and all but Dan is awake & breakfasted.
Today we take a bus tour and do the Tower of London. It is going to crack 30 degrees and it is already a stunner.

    1. I would recommend 'Farewell Christopher Robin' and Hannah and I would both recommend 'Pitch Perfect 3'. Dan liked 'Ready Player One'. Blood shot eyes are not a pretty sight, Hannah looked like a walking Zombie by the end. Glad you like my posts! xo

  2. Fabulous job Spraggs x we can still refer 'fondly' to our long haul Manchester to Chch straight though, so we hear ya sister! Make the most to 'do' - you may not be back there again and you can sleep in December! St Pauls, Westminster Abbey, Natural History Museum, Palaces, parks and film sites are always cool xxx

Do you have somewhere in the world you would love to visit on day?

    1. Hi Chloe,

We are having a pretty amazing time. There are so many wonderful places to visit and see. I will try to bring the Eiffel Tower back, I'm sure it will fit in my handbag.

The flights were good but the second one was very, very long. We were pleased to be in London after flying/travelling for over 24 hours.

What exciting things did you do last week?
      Mrs Spragg :)

  7. Hi Mrs Spragg! looks like you're having fun already, it must've been a very long flight, longer than going to Japan from Auckland, which is twelve hours. You have only been away for a week or so but it feels different without you. We will be waiting...

    Good luck!

    1. Hi Mia,

The flight was very, very long. Longer than Japan to Auckland. That was about the same length as our trip to Singapore. It wasn't to bad really. But Singapore to London seemed to take forever. I'm glad we have a few months before we have to do it again.

Have you had a good week, even though it feels different?
